The Akshardham Temple was made in the memory of Jyotirdhar Swaminarayan Bhagwan. Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) made a lot of efforts to built Akshardham Complex and finished it in just 5 years. The temple was having such a shape that it can last for at least 1000 years more.

Akshardham Temple Darshan Timings
One can get entry to Akshardham Temple every week from Tuesday to Sunday. There is no access to the temple on Monday. The timing of the Akshardham Temple is from 9.30 am till 6.30 pm. The Mandir Aarti timings are from morning 10.00 to 6.00 in the evening wherein one can take the lord darshan. The timing for other shows and exhibitions here is from 9.30 am to 8 pm.

Dress Code of Akshardham Temple
The temple is a holy house of God and a place of daily worship. To protect its spiritual ambience and sanctity, there is a strict dress code kept here.
Upper Wear – It is compulsory to cover the chest, shoulders, navel and upper arms
Lower Wear – It is compulsory to cover at least below knee-length
Sarong – If your dress does not match the above requirement, you will get a free sarong for the visit. It consists of a refundable deposit of Rs 100. You have to return the sarong at the exit.

One can easily reach Akshardham Temple from all parts of the city. It is well-linked with public transport like government buses to metro railways. Swaminarayan Akshardham Delhi is the nearest metro station which is just 350 meters away.
The distance between Delhi airport and Akshardham Temple is 21 km and can cover in just 1 and half hours of time. Thimayya Marg is the common route from the airport to the temple.
From Gurgaon, you need 2 hrs or more time to reach the temple complex. The distance between Gurgaon and Akshardham temple is 43 km while it is just 31 km from Delhi to the temple.
It takes around 50 minutes from Karol Bagh to reach Akshardham Temple as the distance is 12.6 km.
Best Time to Visit Akshardham Temple
